Thank you for your interest in joining The United States of America's Miss Georgia Pageant presented by Jade's Tiara LLC. I'm Shauna Stanley, the State Executive Director of USOA Miss Georgia, and I've been diligently preparing for this year's event. Our pageant system serves as a powerful platform that not only celebrates beauty and talent but also fosters a profound sense of sisterhood among women. Beyond the glitz and glamour, it creates a supportive community where women uplift and empower each other.  Through shared experiences and mutual encouragement, pageantry cultivates bonds that transcend competition, nurturing a network of strong, confident women who inspire and motivate one another. This sisterhood reinforces the idea that together, women can achieve remarkable things, breaking barriers, and paving the way for a more inclusive and empowered future.

LOCAL PRELIMINARY DIRECTOR

In order to produce a successful pageant, we are looking for a dedicated individual to fill the Local Preliminary Director position. This is a volunteer position and is unpaid. However, there will be opportunities for travel statewide. Fulfillment of this position can also be used for course credit and a full letter of recommendation at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Duration: 8 months - 1 year

  • Compensation: None (subject to change based on success of the pageant)

  • Location: Anywhere in Georgia

  • Hours: Flexible; however, there will be some weekends, nights and travel expected. Must be available to work the entirety of pageant weekend on location and up to 48-72 hour before and 48-72 hours after the conclusion of pageant week.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a high school graduate

  • Access to a computer and smartphone

  • Ability to work non-standard hours (some requests may be on-call)

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director with guidance from the Assistant State Director

​

Responsibilities:

  • Using the USOA Pageants format, produce a local preliminary pageant in the state of Georgia, 2 calendar months before the state pageant.

  • Assist with monitoring titleholder social media accounts and activities of your local preliminary titleholders

  • Field inquiries from media, sponsors, and/or contestants

  • Solicit sponsors for your local preliminary

  • Solicit contestants for your local preliminary

  • Assist with recruitment efforts for the state pageant

  • Assist with state pageant week production and logistics

  • Attend state pageant and related activities

  • Commit to regular meetings with the Executive Director, state and local delegates, sponsors, and other team members

  • Participate in branding/media training

  • Other duties as needed

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

The United States of America's Miss Georgia pageant will be held March 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. In order to produce a successful pageant, we are looking for a dedicated individual to fill the Social Media Intern position. This is an internship position and is unpaid. However, there will be opportunities for travel statewide and to the national pageant. Fulfillment of this position can also be used for course credit and a full letter of recommendation at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Duration: 8 months - 1 year

  • Compensation: None (subject to change based on success of the pageant)

  • Location: Anywhere in Georgia

  • Hours: Flexible; however, there will be some weekends, nights and travel expected. Must be available to work the entirety of pageant weekend on location and up to 48-72 hour before and 48-72 hours after the conclusion of pageant week.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a high school graduate, college student, or recent college graduate

  • Access to a computer and smartphone

  • Ability to work non-standard hours (some requests may be on-call)

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, with guidance from the Assistant to Director

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all social media activities, including paid and organic social media promotion, promote pageants and pageant activities, find followers, interact with followers/followed on social media

  • Manage and update website

  • Field inquiries from media, sponsors and/or contestants

  • Manage SEO/SEM

  • Ensure contestants social media sites within guidelines

  • Post events and appearances of queens on social media and website

  • Manage and promote social media hangouts/live events

  • Solicit sponsors

  • Solicit contestants

  • Place ads in local newspapers digitally and print

  • Write and send press releases to media

  • Secure media coverage of pageant- press badges contracts etc.

  • Manage media and VIP seating at the pageant

  • Assist with pageant week production and logistics

  • Attend state pageant and related activities

  • Commit to regular meetings with the Executive Director, state and local delegates, sponsors, and other team members

  • Other duties as needed

 

PRODUCTIONS INTERN

The productions intern position is an internship position and is unpaid. However, there will be opportunities for travel statewide and to the national pageant. Fulfillment of this position can also be used for course credit and a full letter of recommendation at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Duration: 8 months - 1 year

  • Compensation: None (subject to change based on success of the pageant)

  • Location: Anywhere in Georgia

  • Hours: Flexible; however, there will be some weekends, nights and travel expected. Must be available to work the entirety of pageant weekend on location and up to 48-72 hour before and 48-72 hours after the conclusion of pageant week.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a high school graduate, college student, or recent college graduate

  • Access to a computer and smartphone

  • Ability to work non-standard hours (some requests may be on-call)

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, with guidance from the Assistant to Director

  • Experience with show production and stage management preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Director with planning the State Pageant Production

  • Write the production show cue with guidance from the Executive Director

  • Assist with rehearsals, stage/theater lighting, sound

  • Attend state pageant and related activities

  • Commit to regular meetings with the Executive Director, state and local delegates, sponsors, and other team members

  • Other duties as needed

QUEENS' COORDINATOR

The Queens' Coordinator is an Intern position. This is position and is unpaid. However, there will be opportunities for travel statewide and to the national pageant. Fulfillment of this position can also be used for course credit and a full letter of recommendation at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Duration: 8 months - 1 year

  • Compensation: None (subject to change based on success of the pageant)

  • Location: Anywhere in Georgia

  • Hours: Flexible; however, there will be some weekends, nights and travel expected. Must be available to work the entirety of pageant weekend on location and up to 48-72 hour before and 48-72 hours after the conclusion of pageant week.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a high school graduate, college student, or recent college graduate

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, with guidance from the Assistant to Director

Responsibilities:

  • Act as direct point of contact to all contestants and state queens.

  • Assist the Social Media Inter with monitoring all social media activities, including paid and organic social media promotion, promote pageants and pageant activities, find followers, interact with followers/followed on social media

  • Manage and coordinate state titleholder appearances

  • Assist with delegate and contestant logistics at the state pageant and at appearances

  • Assist Social Media Intern with ensuring contestants social media sites within guidelines

  • Solicit appearances for the state Queens

  • Promote events and appearances of queens on social media and website

  • Manage and promote social media hangouts/live events

  • Assist with pageant week production and logistics

  • Attend state pageant and related activities

  • Commit to regular meetings with the Executive Director, state and local delegates, sponsors, and other team members

  • Other duties as needed

 

PAGEANT WEEKEND VOLUNTEER

The Pageant Weekend Volunteers are unpaid.

​

  • Duration: 5 days to up to 1-month

  • Compensation: None (subject to change based on success of the pageant)

  • Location: State pageant host city/location

  • Hours: Flexible; however, there will be some weekends, nights and travel expected. Must be available to work the entirety of pageant weekend on location and up to 48-72 hour before and 48-72 hours after the conclusion of pageant week.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 14 years old (at least a high school student)

  • Access to a computer and smartphone

  • Ability to work non-standard hours (some requests may be on-call)

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, with guidance from the Assistant to Director and Queens' Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and breakdown for all state pageant event spaces

  • Assist with crowd control throughout pageant weekend

  • Assist contestants throughout pageant weekend

  • Assist contestants backstage

  • Attend state pageant and related activities

  • Commit to regular meetings with the Executive Director, state and local delegates, sponsors, and other team members

  • Other duties as needed
